Run a node

Power the network

DIG runs on independent operators. Two roles secure it — validators that stake XCH for consensus, and storage nodes that stake DIG to serve data.

In active development. The DIG node software isn't public yet — the protocol is being built toward mainnet. There's nothing to run today, but this is exactly how it will work. Follow along to be first when node binaries ship.
Two roles

Pick how you contribute

Consensus · stakes XCH

Validator

secures the L2, earns DIG
  • Register by locking XCH in a registration_coin on Chia L1 (~$5,000 target at launch).
  • Sign L2 blocks and epoch checkpoints as a member of the validator set.
  • Earn the per-block DIG subsidy plus a share of L2 fees.
  • Capped at 20,000 validators; misbehavior is slashable.
Storage · stakes DIG

Storage node

serves data, earns DIG
  • Stake DIG into a per-node singleton and host full-replica 100 MB capsules.
  • Pass availability audits — each block samples whether you actually served the data.
  • Get paid for proven availability, not merely for holding bytes.
  • Independent of consensus — run storage alone, or both roles together.

Stake XCH to validate, stake DIG to store — or do both.

Soon3

Sync & serve

Join the validator set or start mirroring capsules.

Soon4

Earn DIG

Collect block subsidies, fees, and availability rewards.
